Blum started her career as an art and fashion model before turning her hand to photography.

In 1991 she met Guenter Blum, first as a model, then muse, and subsequently his wife. It was through Guenters teachings that Sylvie learned photography, lighting and composition. Following his death due to illness, Sylvie continued to forge her own photographic career through several projects and books, becoming internationally known.

Now living in the USA, her show Naked Beauty opened in May 2012 together with iconic photographer Herb Ritts at the Fahey Klein Gallery, Los Angeles.
